Ben Luginbuhl

カリフォルニア大学サンタバーバラ校にて化学の博士号を取得。また、ノーザンアリゾナ大学にて生化学の学士号も取得し、生物学・数学・物理学を副専攻しました。

大学院では、有機半導体デバイス、とくに太陽電池と光検出器の物理の解明に取り組みました。博士課程の過程でデータ収集・処理・解析の自動化に大きな面白さを見出し、そこでPythonを習得。科学技術ソフトウェアの分野への転身を決めました。

休日はアウトドア全般、とりわけキャンプ、ハイキング、サイクリングを楽しんでいます。ギターや料理、いくつかの科学関連の趣味プロジェクトにも取り組んでいます。

Ben holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Northern Arizona University, with minors in Biology, Mathematics, and Physics.

Ben’s graduate research focused on understanding the physics of organic semiconductor devices, particularly solar cells and photodetectors. During his Ph.D., Ben found that he greatly enjoyed automating data collection, processing, and analysis, which is when he learned Python and decided to transition to a career in scientific software.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys all things outdoors, especially camping, hiking, and biking. He also dabbles in guitar, cooking, and a few science-related projects.
