Eric Jones

エリック博士は、今日の科学技術計算のデファクトスタンダードとなっている「Scientific Python（SciPy）」エコシステムの創設者の一人として、世界中のサイエンティストから「SciPyの父」と呼ばれています。

デューク大学にて電気工学の博士号および修士号を取得した後、ベイラー大学にて機械工学の学士号も取得。Pythonの科学技術コミュニティを築いた中心人物の一人として広く知られ、AI、機械学習、画像処理、3Dビジュアライゼーション、並列計算を応用して、極めて複雑なビジネス課題を解決する革新者としても評価されています。

2001年にエンソートを創業して以来、科学技術計算、エンタープライズ向け科学技術ソフトウェア開発、そして科学分野のデジタルトランスフォーメーション（DX）をサポートする世界的リーダーへと同社を成長させました。創業以前は、デューク大学電気工学科にて数値電磁気学と遺伝的最適化の研究に従事していました。

Eric holds both a Ph.D. and M.S. in electrical engineering from Duke University and a B.S.E. in mechanical engineering from Baylor University. He is widely known as one of the founding fathers of Python’s scientific community and an innovator in applying AI/machine learning, image processing, 3D visualization, and parallel computing to elegantly solve the most complex business problems.

As the founder of Enthought in 2001, Eric has shaped the company into a global leader in scientific computing, enterprise scientific software development, and digital transformation for science. Prior to founding Enthought, Eric focused on numerical electromagnetics and genetic optimization in the department of electrical engineering at Duke University.
